Nabilla Bee – video-blogger // stylist // designer // model // #TEAMALGERIA
CHARISMA!! To survive in the fashion industry you have to grow on people. Working hard will get you somewhere but working smart will get you there. Studying in the UK and keeping her pride in Algeria, you have to be proud of this lady representing Africa……ummm well and Russia. ( i secretly found this out from her video blog )
I bumped into Nabiila through a friend of mine who lives in Trinidad (who was introduced to me via my brother) , that aside, I immediately fell in love with her passion and of course her lovable personality that is easy to grasp while watching her You Tube videos. What I loved most about her videos is that there is a diversity: product reviews, tutorials, ootd’s, diy’s. well here is one of my favorites.
doesn’t this come in so handy during a bad hair day???
Nabilla found it hard to describe herself but from the many times I have chatted with her I can tell all of you that she is humbled, she is friendly and she is MOST OF ALL SUPER BUSY . lol. Incase you wanna chat with her be patient, trust me, she will reply.
1. how can you describe yourself?
This is really difficult, umm..believe it or not I’m a very shy person, i keep myself to myself.
2. when did you start blogging on fashion?
I first started blogging back in january 2010 I was still in school, but I didn’t like it and I felt that I needed to find my own style and it was a year later that I started Nabiilabee.
3. what is your focal point and inspiration on blogging?
Inspiring other women and girls. I want to inspire them to be modest and show them how.
4. how do you manage to juggle school and still maintain a presence in the fashion industry?
It’s very difficult, until you start blogging/ youtubing yourself you’ll never understand how difficult and how much time and effort goes into it especially since im in uni, it’s very hard, I guess slowly with time you learn to balance your studies.
5. what are your achievements as a blogger and where do you see yourself in the future within the same light?
Yes, i want to be a stylist and designer, I want to do a bit of everything I guess within the fashion industry I’m incredibly passionate about it all. I’ve reached over 20 thousand subscribers on YouTube and over 30 thousand followers on Facebook for me that’s a huge achievement however i guess my biggest achievement so far was when I reached 3 million views on my YouTube channel. I’m still over whelmed about it. It’s amazing and i thank my followers all the time!
6. Tell us something about aminabee and how she started?
It was nothing on purpose she used to watch and hear me make videos and she loved the idea and said she wanted to do it aswell so I let her and she loves it! Also I guess fashion and styling comes naturally to her aswell she’s always dressing up and she had always dressed herself.
7. what are your favorite elements to work with?
I love doing fashion illustrations using watercolours. I’m currently still obsessed with blazers and everything oversized, i’ve been using and loving velvet recently. Since coming back from holiday i brought a load of fabrics that you can’t find here and really excited to start sewing garments for myself.
8. Do you have a favorite brand?
I don’t have a specific favourite brand but I do love a lot of the higher end brands, simply for the quality and the shapes like Celine, acne, moschino.
9. how does “haram” and fashion conflict and what do you do to overcome it?
It’s not as straight forward and some people think, everyone will always come and be like this is ‘haram’ that is haram etc i guess you just have to do your own research and try to follow the teaching of Islam as much as you can. And honestly you can hijabify pretty much anything.
“That’s basically what I do”.
Hope you fall in love with her work as much as I did.
